Revolutionizing Recruitment: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Ensures Transparency in Hiring Process

On Saturday, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath addressed the inaugural ceremony of the 24th national conference of chairpersons of State Public Service Commissions in Lucknow. In his speech, he highlighted that his government had successfully introduced transparency in the recruitment process, which was previously hampered by nepotism and casteism.

Chief Minister Adityanath revealed that when his government took charge in 2017, one-and-a-half-lakh posts remained vacant due to the Supreme Court's intervention over complaints regarding lack of transparency in the recruitment process. He further added that the recruitment process was plagued by nepotism and casteism, which resulted in injustice to meritorious and talented candidates.

To rectify the situation, the government formed a team of honest officials to ensure a transparent recruitment process. In the last six years, the government made five-and-a-half-lakh appointments, without a single question raised on any appointment. However, Chief Minister Adityanath stated that the number of appointments was not enough for a state with a population of 25 crores.

The Chief Minister also highlighted the "One District, One Product" program, which aims to promote entrepreneurship and unique products of each of its 75 districts. With many youths reluctant to join the government sector, the state devised this program to encourage entrepreneurship and job creation.

Additionally, the Chief Minister stated that the state's better law and order situation had attracted a lot of investment, and the Global Investors Summit, which took place from February 10 to 12, received investment proposals worth Rs 35 lakh crore. He further added that a groundbreaking ceremony for projects worth Rs 10 lakh crore would be held soon.
